The Taxi Charity (London Taxi Benevolent Association For War Disabled) have launched their 2017 desk calendar to help raise funds for the excellent work that they do for our veterans.
Formed in Fulham in 1948, the object of the charity was to help war disabled throughout London and the home counties. Their aim, is simple; to work for the benefit, comfort and enjoyment of the war disabled and veterans.
Today the charity is as strong as ever, helping bring veterans together for events and trips. In order to run these trips, they rely on the London licensed taxi drivers to provide their cabs and time for free. In 2016 the work of the The Taxi Charity got national recognition when it won the National Lottery Award for Best Voluntary Charity. But they are not resting on their laurels. In June 2017 they will be once again volunteering their time and taxis to bring a large number of veterans to Normandy.
To help support their work they are selling their 2017 calendar via their website. They suggest a donation of £6.50 including post and packaging for UK customers.
